Georgian Minister of Justice visits prisoners for Christmas

The Georgian Minister of Justice, Tea Tsulukiani visited prison facility № 12 and attended a Christmas service in the prison church together with detainees. The prisoners also received congratulations on the occasion of New Year and Christmas from the Director of Department of Corrections, Maya Khasia.

"I am happy to be celebrating this great holiday with you. I've come to tell you that you are not alone! We will do our best to get you back to a normal life as soon as possible," Tsulukiani said.

She said that for this purpose, the Ministry of Justice has begun the project of re-socializing and rehabilitating former prisoners.

"Within the project, we will try to give you all kinds of assistance after you leave the prison, including help in  finding a job. We want you to never come back to prison," Tsulukiani said.

The Minister also discussed with prisoners their problems.
