The Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, said that the international group on the settlement of the Syrian conflict, known as the "Islamic quartet", might be joined by Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia.

"The Egyptian project is very important and we need to continue working. Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia are interested in joining it. I think this is one of the best initiatives, which can include other countries interested in a peaceful resolution of the conflict to avoid foreign interference," RIA Novosti quotes Salehi as saying at a news conference in Egypt.
