Makhachkala boiling-houses shut down over gas debts
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaDagestan's Kavkazregiongaz gas company has closed down boiling-houses that provide hot water in the republic's capital of Makhachkala over debts, RIA Novosti reports.
On July 9, the company started shutting down boiling-houses that owe over 336 million rubles. Makhachkalateploenergo (256.8 million rubles) and Makhachkalateploservis (46.2 million rubles) have the biggest debts.
42 boiling-houses were shut down, several small and 3 large boiling-houses will be shut down this evening, the chairman of the republic's branch of the company, Ali Otsokov, said. All 58 boiling-houses of Makhachkalateploservis and three of Makhachkalateploenergo will be shut down.
The head of Makhachkalateploservis, Ibragim Magomedov, admitted the presence of a debt of 43 mil rubles but declared that he sees no solution to the situation. He said that the population owes him 50 mil rubles but it is not used to paying. There used to be subsidies and benefits that were paid to the company automatically.
Kavkazregiongaz is the only gas supplier of Gazprom in Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, Dagestan, Ingushetia, and North Ossetia-Alaniya.
