Russian troops have intensifying departure from the facility. They are selling some belongings to the locals. Most of them left the place in late 2012.

250 Azerbaijani citizens servicing the facility lost jobs. The local nursery was closed.

The radar was closed in December 2012. It became Azerbaijani property after the collapse of the USSR. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of Russian president, said that the radar was not crucial for Russia.
