Mikheil Saakashvili effigy "buried" in Zugdidi

Protesters against the appointment of the former Interior Ministry
official Tengiz Gunava as the governor of the Samegrelo-Zemo region
staged a performance today in the town of Zugdidi.

The performers carried a coffin with a mannequin and a portrait of
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili attached to it through the city. At the end of the
"funeral procession" the "effigy" was placed in front of the regional
administration building.

The performers explained that they wanted to show that the Georgian
president has to accept his "political death" and resign.
