Russian Central Bank nullifies license of Express Bank

The Russian Central Bank has nullified the license of the Express Bank in Makhachkala (Dagestan). The decision comes into force on January 21.

The Dagestani bank stopped service for individuals on January 9. Three more banks were closed down in late 2012.

Dagestan has the third highest density of banks in Russia after Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.
