The Iranian Ministry for Intelligence and National Security says that the country was facing a “currency war” aimed at weakening its economy, Fars reports on Monday.

A source at the ministry said that Iran can withstand the war by improving the quality of private products. However, the society prefers foreign products.

Ahmad Tavakoli, an MP and director of a research center, said a few days ago that the value of national currency had dropped by 55% throughout the year.
