The resignation of the head of the Central Bank of Iran, Mahmoud Bahmani, provoked a devaluation of the national currency and a rise in the price of the "Azadi" gold coin.

Bahmani was accused of illegal manipulations related to the withdrawal of money from the banking system of the country.
After this information was leaked to the media, the price of the euro rose to 46,000 rials (from 44,600), while the US dollar appeared to cost 35,500 rials instead of 33,600 in the past.
