Iran switches to Euro 4 standards

Iran is improving petroleum quality and educing sales of gasoline that does not meet the Euro 4 standards, Fars reports.

The poor ecological situation has resulted in cancels of classes and work in Tehran. About 70% of air pollution in the city was caused by cars.

Sharzand produces Euro 4 gasoline, while LORC on the coast of the Gulf produces Euro 5.

Iran will adopt the Euro 4 standard on March 21, 2013, Deputy Director of the Iranian Organization for Standards Bakhadur Qazemi said. Lower standards will be banned.
