Kuban judge may be sentenced for bribe of 20 million rubles

Judge Sergey Rusov may be jailed for receiving a bribe of 20 million rubles, spokesman of the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin says.

The judge was considering the case on forfeit of a construction company initiated by the Sochi administration. Rusov offered the defendant’s representative to pay 20 million rubles to pass a decision in the favour of the construction company. The defendant’s representative reported the judge to the local investigative directorate.

Investigators are studying the case. They will send a report to the High Qualification Board in order to initiate a criminal case.
