According to a Georgian amnesty, six criminal bosses have been released. They left the country, as article 223 of the Georgian Criminal Code did not allow them to stay, otherwise their convictions would have been extended, Deputy Minister for Corrections and Legal Assistance Grigol Giorgadze said, RIA Novosti reports.

Nana Kakabadze, a human rights activist and a co-author of the amnesty list, said that the article should be removed from the Criminal Code.
