Russian-Aghul dictionary published in Dagestan

The Dagestani State University has published the first Russian-Aghul dictionary composed by Professor Shaban Mazanayev, RIA Dagestan reports.

According to a 2010 census, about 30,000 speakers of the Aghul language lived in Russia. Its written form was formed in the early 1990s. It is part of the eastern Lezgic languages.

Shaban Mazanayev, Ismail Mazanayev and Salminat Gasanova published the first alphabet book of the language in 1992.
