Family of journalist Kochneva ask Chechen leader for help

Relatives of Ankhar Kochneva, a journalist kidnapped in Syria, have asked Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov for mediation in her release, her ex-husband Dmitry Petrov said, RIA Novosti reports.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has not confirmed the information.

Yevgeny Perebiynis, acting director of the department for information policy, said that such a request would be taken into account.
