Russian Public Television to be launched on May 19

Russian Public Television (RPT) will start its work on May 19, 2013,
the Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Communications of the
Russian Federation Alexei Volin said today, RIA-Novosti reports.

Volin said that the RPT will have its headquarters at the Ostankino broadcasting complex in Moscow.
Russian Public Television will become an independent non-profit
organization. Based on the statute, the new structure has the right to
create other non-profit organizations in the country and abroad. Its
purpose is the production and advertisement of the channel. The
chairman of the Board of RPT is Oleg Tabakov.
