Russia's prosecutor general vows anti-corruption plans for Caucasus republics
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRussia's prosecutor general Yury Chaika has proposed drawing up individual anti-corruption strategies for every republic in the volatile North Caucasus. He announced the proposal at a meeting of the North Caucasus prosecution departments in participation with the president's regional envoy, Alexander Khloponin, in Yesentuki, ITAR-TASS reports.
Chaika pointed out some positive trends in the struggle against corruption in the North Caucasus, pointing to a 14% decrease in registered corruption-related crimes against the state. He also urged tighter control over budget funds.
