EU needs Turkey more than Turkey needs EU - minister

From an economic point of view, the  the EU needs Turkey more than Turkey needs the EU, Turkey's Minister for EU Affairs Egemen Bagis said, Trend cites the Doğan news agency as saying.

Bagis noted that Turkey's accession to the EU would contribute to the rapid resolution of the economic crisis in the EU states.

"Turkey has become a progressive country with a steadily growing economy. Turkey's accession to the EU would be much more important for the EU than for Turkey at the moment," he said.
