Olympic transport facilities 80% ready

Transport facilities for the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014 are 80% ready, Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said.

"The Ministry of Transport is a responsible executor of 21 objects

from the Olympic program. Seven more sites are the responsibility of

the company Russian Railways. On average, the degree of readiness of all

transport facilities is 80%," the Minister said.

According to Sokolov, all Olympic rail projects are practically

implemented: work on the Sochi - Adler route is almost

completed, the Adler - Krasnaya Polyana branch is in the final stage.

The Minister assured that airfield infrastructure and facilities will

be installed in time.

"All road infrastructure in Sochi should be completed by the New Year,

maybe even a little earlier, in December," the minister said, quoted

by RIA Novosti.
