Tbilisi mayor appears for questioning
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaTbilisi mayor Gigi Ugulava appeared for questioning at the Old Tbilisi police department on Saturday. He made the decision after Tbilisi City Court ordered that a mandatory appearance for questioning of the mayor be enforced, Trend reports.
Ugulava will be questioned as a witness in connection with the events of February 8, when National Movement supporters, including Ugulava, were attacked by a crowd in front of the National Library.
"I have always expressed my readiness to cooperate with the investigation, but demand to interrogate Interior Minister Irakli Garibashvili as well, who has accused the opposition of provoking the clashes prior to the investigation," the mayor said before entering the police building.
