Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili did some slapping of wrists in the Cabinet today. He was dissatisfied with the work of the former Minister of Economy, Zurab Popolikashvili, saying that “he will not tolerate chairwarmers and people that boot investors and make no decisions”.

Saakashvili said that the country was on the brink of losing $9 million of investment because of Popolikashvili and his deputy Grigol Gobedjishvili, who sent a reply to an investor 3 months after receiving the letter.

Saakashvili added that he will check the personnel of ministries for the presence of ministers’ relatives. He expressed discontent with the start of the governmental session, which was held in the open air in the resort zone of Kvareli (Kakheti region, Eastern Georgia), due to the late arrival of the Minister of Agriculture, Bakur Kvezereli, and the Minister for Refugee Affairs and Settlement, Koba Subeliani.

Although he hasn’t taken any measures for the late arrival of the ministers so far.
