Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pardons seven citizens of Kazakhstan

Seven Kazakh citizens convicted in Turkmenistan to 7 and 8 years of

imprisonment have been pardoned by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly

Berdumuhamedov. This information was announced by the official

representative of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, Zhanbolat Usenov.

 

"As a result of direct talks with the leaders of Turkmenistan, as well

as efforts of the Kazakh Embassy in Ashgabat, on February 15th 2013, by

 decree of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov,

Kazakh citizens were pardoned and released,"  Trend quotes him as saying.

 

According to him, the citizens of Kazakhstan went to the

Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan border.

 

The citizens of Kazakhstan were sentenced in late 2012  for trying to

illegally cross the border.
