Russia’s Pekhtin resigns from parliament over real estate scandal

Vladimir Pekhtin, head of the Russian parliamentary commission for ethics, has announced resignation, ITAR-TASS

Speaker of the lower chamber of parliament Sergey Naryshkin thanked him for honesty.

Bloggers, most notably Alexey Navalny, accused Pekhtin of possessing undeclared real estate in the US last week. The MP was denying the possession. His parliamentary membership was frozen during investigation of the case.
