Iran to launch Euro 5 diesel fuel production

Iran will soon launch the Euro 5 diesel fuel production, Deputy Petroleum Minister Alireza Zeygami said, Mehr reports.

Iran produces 6 million liters lf diesel fuel daily. Euro 4 diesel fuel shipments to Tehran were doubled and the first ones arrive in early February.

Iran consumes about 50 million liters of diesel fuel daily.

Euro 4 and Euro 5 fuel sales started in 8 large cities of Iran in early February. Only about 14 million liters of such fuel is produced in Iran. The country is trying to reduce air pollution. 70% of air pollution is caused by cars.
