Kyrgyzstan demands extradition of Bakiyev from Belarus

Kyrgyz prosecutor General’s Office has sent a demand for extradition of ex-President Kurmanbek Bakiyev and his brother Zhanybek, ITAR-TASS reports.
The ex-president had been sentenced to 24 years of prison with property confiscation. Zh. Bakiyev was sentenced by the Military Tribunal of the Bishkek Garrison for murder of Medet Sadyrkulov, former head of the Presidential Administration, Sergey Slepchenko and Kubat Sulaymanov accompanying him.
President Bakiyev left the country after the revolution of April 2010. A total of 97 people were killed during the revolution. His brother, head of the State Security Service, left the country together with him.
