Putin to commemorate Pskov paratroopers killed in North Caucasus

Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Pskov tomorrow, where he
will meet the relatives of paratroopers who died in the Caucasus
in the year 2000, the press service of the Kremlin says.
Pskov paratroopers of the 6th Airborne Company 104 Parachute Regiment
withheld 2500 fighters for 16 hours in a battle along the
Argun Gorge. By the evening of 1 March 2000 out of 90 people only
six survived.
"As part of activities commemorating the paratroopers who died
heroically in combat missions in the North Caucasus, the Russian
president will lay a wreath at the monument to the fallen soldiers.
The President will speak at the commemoration ceremony in front of the
victims' families and military personnel of the regiment," the report
said, according to RIA Novosti.
