Iran bans VPN

Iran has banned the Virtual Private Network (VPN), a system used to bypass the restricted websites, as stated by Ramenazali Sobkhani-Fard, head of the parliamentary committee for information policy.

Iran is been taking harsher measures to control Internet traffic in the country due to the upcoming presidential polls. Social networks were used for the disorders after the elections of 2009.
