Ingushetia reconstructs its own "Caucasus"

The head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, held a meeting on the

reconstruction of the Ingush part of the federal highway "Kavkaz". The

participants of the meeting presented the expansion projects to

Yevkurov and confirmed their readiness to proceed with the road works

in the near future.

The representatives of road companies reported that in the first phase a 13-kilometer section

will be restored between "Magas" airport to

Chechnya. The experts stressed that this will be followed by

landscaping and planting of adjacent areas

Yevkurov noted that the reconstruction of the roadway will reduce

accidents and improve the transport situation in Ingushetia and in the

region as a whole. "It is necessary to build a modern highway. The most

important thing is improving road safety, creating a comfortable environment

for motorists," Yevkurov said.

All work at the site of the M-29 federal highway will be completed in 2014.
