CIS to establish intergovernmental council to fight corruption

From 29th to 30th of July the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States(CIS) will consider the project of establishing an Intergovernmental Council to fight corruption, 1news.az reports, citing information from the Executive Committee of the CIS.

The intergovernmental council will be a structure of CIS cooperation, the main goal of which is organization and coordination of measures against corruption, monitoring and realizing the obligations of CIS countries in the fight against crime and constructive cooperation with international and regional mechanisms.

The council will consider issues of organizing training and improving the skills of staff and establishing base organizations in CIS countries, carrying out joint scientific-research and experimental work on problems of mutual interest.
