NATO Secretary-General is going to Russia

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen is considering a visit to Russia on the invitation from the Russian side.

"We are now considering the date and schedule  that is acceptable to all parties, and it will be an opportunity to continue our political dialogue,"  he said in Brussels, according to RIA Novosti.  The alliance proposal to Russia to cooperate on missile defense "is still in force," and NATO Secretary-General hopes that the Russian side would accept it. At the same time Rasmussen has once again stated that the emerging NATO missile defense system is not directed against Russia.
