Man sentenced to year in prison for desecrating Moscow cathedral

A Mr. Piotrovsky has been sentenced to a year in prison for vandalism based on religious hatred after he poured ink over two icons in Moscow's Christ the Saviour Cathedral, Ekho Moskvy reports.

As Piotrovsky has already spent 7 months in prison awaiting the hearing of his case, he was freed in the courtroom.after being prohibited from entering Christian churches for a year.
