US President Barack Obama has concluded the first day of his visit to Israel. Journalists say his position became more pro-Israeli and harsher against Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the visit was an opportunity to discuss the Iranian nuclear program, Syrian conflict and settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Concerning Syria, Israel wants the country to remain stable and not allow chemical weapons to fall in the hands of terrorists. Israel is ready to recognize Palestine as a state and make territorial concessions, but no for the price of own security.

Obama noted that the US will always back Israel, but urged the state to make no hasty decisions about military operations in Iran.

Justice Minister Tsipi Livni, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon and Knesset member Yuval Steinitz joined the evening dinner of Netanyahu and Obama. They discussed relations of Israel and Palestine and resignation of 78-year-old Mahmoud Abbas.
