BLACKSEAFOR starts naval drills on Black Sea

The BLACKSEAFOR international naval drills have started in the Black Sea, RIA Novosti cites First-Rank Captain Vyacheslav Trukhachyov as saying.

The drills will continue under Turkish command on April 5-23. Russia’s marine ship “Novocherkassk” left Sevastopol yesterday and is on its way to Varna (Bulgaria).

BLACKSEAFOR was formed in Istanbul on April 2, 2001.
