OSCE calls on Russia to stop putting pressure on NGOs

The OSCE is deeply concerned about the situation surrounding non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Russia.

The body's representative for freedom of speech, Dunia Miatovich, says the Russian authorities should stop putting pressure on NGOs and allow such organizations to continue their work, which is very useful for media and the whole of society.

"NGOs support journalists and the whole media industry, freedom of speech and freedom of thought," she said.
