Col. Ruzinsky becomes commander of Russian military base in Armenia
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRussian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Col. Andrey Ruzinsky as the new commander of 102nd Russian military base in Armenia. He will replace Col. Oleg Smiryonov, who has been in charge of the base since February 2012.
Armenian acting Defense Minister Seyran Oganyan noted achievements of the base in training soldiers in the past years. He thanked Col. Smiryonov for efficiency and expressed hope that the new commander will continue the fruitful developments.
Russian officers told Oganyan about the recent incident in the Shirak District and said that military prosecutors were studying the case. Children from Vagramaberd were killed by landmines at a tank range on April 7, 2013.
