Al Qaeda branch destroyed in Turkey

A branch of Al Qaeda planning blasts at the US Embassy in Ankara has been destroyed in Turkey, CNN Turk reports.

8 Turks, two Azerbaijanis and two Chechens were detained in Istanbul and Corlu. They had 22kg of explosives. They planned to destroy a museum and a synagogue as well.

A suicide bomber of the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front exploded with 6kg of explosives near the US Embassy in Ankara on February 1. A security guard died and swveral people were injured.
