Palmali builds barge for Caspian Sea

Palmali won the LUKOIL tender in 2011 to build barges for the field of V. Filanovsky in the northern area of the Caspian Sea. A contract was signed between LUKOIL and Palmali in December 2011, Vesti.az reports.

Palmali built a barge at the Besictas factory in Turkey and assembled it in Khazar (Azerbaijan).

The barge has a maximum capacity of 14,000 tons of cargo, it has a crane capable of holding 400 tons.

LUKOIL named the barge “Yuri Kuvykin” after a notable Soviet geologist working in the Caspian Sea.
