Putin sends message to CIS Muslim conference in Baku

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message to an international conference entitled “CIS Muslims for peace and sustainable development” in Baku and urged attendants to form an atmosphere of charity, mutual support and tolerance.

Active dialogue of Muslim organizations and interaction with other religions boost socio-economic development and social consolidation, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin read in Putin’s message.

Putin noted that discussions of protection of cultural values, religious feelings and prevention of extremism were timely.

The talks are attended by Azerbaijani religious confessions, members of government and parliament, scientists, artists and members of diplomatic missions.
