US may provide Syrian rebels with weapons

Spokesman of the US White House Jay Carney said that they were monitoring the situation in Syria and may send weapons to rebels if necessary, Interfax reports.

Carney noted that the government wanted resignation of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
