People's Revival Day celebrated in Karachay-Cherkessia

The People's Revival Day is celebrated today in the Russian North Caucasus republic of Karachay-Cherkessia. Rallies, sport competitions, cultural events are being held in the framework of the celebration.

The rally held in the capital of the republic was attended by Karachay-Cherkessian officials.

The procession also visited the memorial to the victims of the Stalin era's deportation of the Karachay people. People brought flowers to the memorial.

The head of the republic, Rashid Temezov, urged young people to remember the republic's history so that the tragedies of the past could never happen again.
