Azerbaijani parliament passes amnesty act

The parliament of Azerbaijan has held the first session marking the 90th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, Trend reports.

Legislators discussed the amnesty act initiated by Mehriban Aliyeva, first lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and a member of parliament. 9,000 people will be affected by the amnesty, including over 2,000 released from prisons.

MPs voted for the amnesty act unanimously.
