Realization of Big Baku plan will vost $5-6 billion

Azerbaijani State Minister for Urban Planning and Architecture Abbas Aleskerov said today that realization of the Big Baku general plan until 2030 will cost about $5.1-6.4 billion.

The World Bank approves the project. New public hearings on the plan will be organized in June-July.

Realization of the project will increase housing area from 35 million to 65 million square meters. The population will increase by 3.325 million, road length by hundreds of kilometers.

22,000 hectares of lands of oil industry will be turned into forests and parks, 34,000 hectares into parks.

The Big Baku plan includes 11 districts, Sumgayit and the Absheron District and Khyrdalan. Their area totals 250,000 hectares.
