Azerbaijani president meets head of UNESCO

Azerbaijani President Ilkham Aliyev and his wife Mekhriban Aliyev met the Director General of UNESCO Irina Bokova on Thursday, Trend reports, citing AzerTag.

Aliyev expressed content that the first visit of the new head of UNESCO was to Azerbaijan. They talked about the recent joint projects and the president expressed hope for further expansion of active cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO.

Bokova noted the importance of visiting Azerbaijan, and praised the goodwill ambassador Mekhriban Aliyev and her contribution to culture, music, traditions, heritage.
