Geneva conference for Syria will be attended by ministers

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the international conference on Syria hosted by Geneva will be attended by ministers, RIA Novosti reports.

The foreign minister emphasized that it was essential to gain support of the conference from Syrian opposition and government.

Lavrov had negotiations with US Secretary of State John Kerry. They agreed to continue the Geneva talks started on June 30, 2012. Some EU states agreed to take part in the forum.
