Russian Scientific and Practical Conference opens in Vladikavkaz

The second Russian Scientific-Practical conference "Slavic writing and culture as a factor of unity of the peoples of Russia" has opened in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia. It is timed for the Day of Written Slavic, which is celebrated on May 24.The conference was attended by the representatives of the Orthodox community, linguists, educators, journalists from Moscow, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria and other regions of the country. The participants were welcomed by Archbishop Zosima of Vladikavkaz and Alania. He noted that the Russian language plays an important role in unifying Russia, and wished the audience productive work."Culture and linguistics should unite nations. In this sense, the Russian language is a strong unifying force that makes it possible to unite all the peoples of Russia. We hope that with the help of the university the second collection of scientific articles will be published on the basis of the conference," proctor of the Vladikavkaz Orthodox seminary, Archpriest Artem Ponomarenko, is quoted by Radio "Echo of Moscow".The scientific forum will last two days.
