Turkish defense expenses grow by 85%

Turkey has increased defense expenses by 85% in the last 5 years and spent over $24 billion, Trend reports.

Turnover of defense and aerospace industries increased by 9% to $4.7 billion, compared with 2011. Exports grew by 16% to $1.2 billion. The turnover and export are planned to reach $8 billion and $2 billion respectively.

Turkey is 54% self-sufficient in the field of military industry.
