Solo female climber from Ingushetia conquers Mount Everest

Albogachieva took the flag of the 2014 Sochi Olympics with her to the highest point of the world.Last year, with a group of climbers from Ingushetia, she climbed Everest from the north, Tibetan side, but this time she approached the highest peak of the world from a more difficult southern route from Nepal. Thus, Leila became the first Russian climber to conquer Tibet by both the northern and southern ascents, ITAR-TASS reported.The ambitious project of this renowned Ingush climber is funded by the authorities of the Republic. Earlier, at a meeting with the head of the republic, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Albogachieva announced that she intends to conquer Mount Everest solo. The climber said she "intended to devote her ascent to the Olympics in Sochi and the 100th anniversary of the legendary "Wild Division", commanded by the Grand Duke Mikhail, which included an Ingush Cavalry Regiment.According to Albogachieva, in preparation for the conquest of Everest she had made a number of ascents on Elbrus. She wants to train a group of climbers from Ingushetia and to climb Everest with this group, as well as to conquer all of the remaining 13 "eight-thousanders".In May last year a group of climbers, organized by the authorities of Ingushetia, conquered Everest and raised the Russian flag, the flag of Ingushetia and of the subjects of the North Caucasian Federal District there. The ascent was devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Ingushetia.
