Sochi collects snow for Olympic Games

Dmitry Chernyshenko, President of the Sochi 2014 Organization Committee, said that about 710,000 cubic meters of snow had been collected and no snow will be imported, Interfax reports.

He noted that the problems with snow had happened during the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver four years ago. Snow was delivered by helicopters. Sochi has a program called Hot Snow, which combines technologies to produce snow at positive temperatures and store it during summer. If necessary, snow can be delivered from mountains.
