Iran builds 700 modernized centrifuges in Natanza
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIran has installed 700 modernized centrifuges (model IR-2M) to enrich uranium at the Natanza facility, RIA Novosti reports.
Iran warned the IAEA about the centrifuges in late January 2013. 180 centrifuges were installed in February.
Fereydun Abbasi Davani, head of the Iranian Organization for Atomic Energy, said in early March that 3,000 centrifuges of the new generation were ready to replace the old weapons. The country needs 50,000 centrifuges to produce enough enriched uranium for power plants they will build.
The IAEA will soon release another quarter reports about the Iranian nuclear program soon.
