Secretary of Russian Security Council meet US president

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev visited the US, met President Barack Obama and National Security Advisor Thomas Donilon and handed a letter of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The letter gives answers to proposals on trade-economic and military cooperation Obama made in April.

Patrushev met US Defense Secretary Chich Hagel, acting State Secretary William Burns. Patrushev and Hagel discussed missile defenses and the Syrian crisis and development of military cooperation. Hagel expressed hope for further dialogue and plans to meet Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu.

Patrushev and Burns discussed terrorism prevention and the Syrian conflict in a closed-door meeting.
