Chechen president rejects calls for behaviour code for North Caucasian youth
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaChechen President Ramzan Kadyrov commented on a proposal by the deputy to the presidential envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District, Vladimir Shvetsov, to develop a behaviour code for North Caucasian youth, the Chechen president’s press-service reports.
Kadyrov said that Chechens, like any other people, have their own code of behaviour, which has been developed for centuries. The traditions and cultures of Chechens are based on respect for the elderly, care of the young, and respect for the culture and traditions of other peoples. The president recalled that the Chechen people had never waged war outside the republic. The code passes from one generation to another and has a written copy, which can be handed to those who want to write such codes, the president concluded.
