Georgian president says army belongs to society

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said at the Independence Day yesterday that the Army belonged to society, not any party or politician, Georgia Online reports.

He said in a speech for the troops taking part in the ISAF mission that lives of soldiers were one of the main sources of national and eternal life of Georgia.

Saakashvili visited the Georgian military in Afghanistan yesterday.
